Rock in Rio Returns to Lisbon

One of the world’s biggest music festivals, Rock in Rio, takes place once again in the Bela Vista Park in Lisbon,  from the 25th and 26th of May and then from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of June.

During a 5-day emotion-packed event, Bela Vista Park will be transformed into a veritable “city of rock”, including over 12 hours of performances per day on the various stages. The “World Stage” will host leading names from international music. The “Electronic Tent” will stage sets by leading national and international DJ’s and VJ’s while the “Hot Stage” will hold alternative concerts by top artists and successful, upcoming bands.

The line-up is already complete and features Metallica, Evanescence, Mastodon, Sepultura and Tambours du Bronx on Friday the 25th of May; Linkin Park, Smashing Pumpkins, The Offspring and Limp Bizkit on Saturday the 26th of May; Lenny Kravitz, Maroon 5, Ivete Sangalo and Expensive Soul on Friday the 1st of June; Stevie Wonder, Bryan Adams and Joss Stone on Saturday the 2nd of June and Bruce Springsteen, James and Xutos & Pontapés on Sunday the 3rd of June.

The popular bi-annual rock festival brings music fans to Lisbon from all over the world. More than 350,000 people attended the 2010 edition of Rock in Rio-Lisboa, which headlined Shakira, John Mayer, Elton John, Leona Lewis, 2 Many DJs, Muse, Snow Patrol, Miley Cyrus, McFly, Amy MacDonald, Rammstein, Megadeth, Motorhead and Soulfly.

In addition to the concerts, families are invited to spend a pleasant day relaxing in the garden areas and enjoying the entertainment activities , including the “Radical Space” - where more adventurous festival-goers can go snowboarding on the real snow track - and the Kids Space offering many children’s activities

Day tickets cost €61 and can be purchased online at Ticketline or at FNAC stores and BP petrol stations all over Portugal.
