Holidays with a youthful spirit

©Turismo do Alentejo
Come and discover Portugal! Accept our invitation. Reserve your stay in a youth hostel and get ready for a great time.

Bring friends or family and book the best youth hostel for your holiday destination. Or move around - spending each night in a different place. Scattered from North to South, including the islands, you’ll find many accommodation options at attractive prices. Can you imagine the possibilities?

Discover sites of amazing natural beauty in the nature reserves and parks. You’ll encounter breathtaking landscapes in the rivers of Gerês, the steep slopes of the River Douro, the high mountains in Madeira and the Serra da Estrela or underground caves in the mountain ranges of the Azores and Serras de Aire e Candeeiros. Discover these unique spots at your own pace – calmly, with time to observe the local animal and plant life, or packed with adrenalin, doing some rafting, hang gliding, mountain climbing, canoeing, caving or sliding.

We also have beaches to suit all tastes: long golden beaches in Porto Santo, black sand in the Azores, hidden coves in the Southwest Alentejo or the famous Algarvian beaches. All are excellent spots for sunbathing and swimming. Or you could try some sailing, diving, bodyboarding, windsurfing... The reinvigorating seas of the North and Centre pose great challenges, and beaches in Peniche or Ericeira, are genuine Surfing Meccas. If you prefer the hustle and bustle of city life, visit Lisbon, the nation’s capital, with its cosmopolitan streets and picturesque neighbourhoods next to the River Tagus. Or take a trip to Oporto, whose historic centre elegantly blends with modern architecture and design shops. Also take the opportunity to get to know our museums and monuments. Or watch some shows. You definitely won’t want to miss the Music Festivals!

At mealtimes, try some fresh fish and shellfish or tasty salted cod. And wash it down with some excellent Portuguese wine - another essential discovery. And make sure to try some conventual sweets: you’ll be begging for more!

After a day in the sun, make the most of the night. In Portugal, we love enjoying ourselves - long nights spent in the company of friends. In Lisbon, listen to the finest DJs in the Docas zone next to the River Tagus. Or discover some of the hip bars in the Bairro Alto. In Porto, visit the Ribeira riverfront zone, overlooking the River Douro, or travel to Matosinhos and Vila Nova de Gaia. In Coimbra, Braga or Évora check out what the local students are up to. Here, you just have to get into the groove and dance into the early hours! Don’t miss the party!
