The new Basel-Faro route is the 11th route inaugurated by the British company Easyjet from Faro and will have a duration of two months (27 June/01 Sept).
The direct connection to Basel will be served by a 174-seat A320 and will operate twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays (see timetables); it is estimated that a total of more than 6,000 passengers will be carried by the new service.
Despite being highly seasonal, this service illustrates and reinforces the company's continuous interest in Faro Airport and in the region and highlights the interest of the British airline in the Algarve as a prime holiday destination.
It is to be recalled that Easyjet currently connects the Algarve region to London Gatwick, London Luton, London Southend, Bristol, Liverpool, Belfast, Newcastle, Glasgow International, Paris Orly and Geneva.
