“From Farm to Table” is organised into six major itineraries, divided into 17 routes in the Alentejo and three in the Ribatejo, that showcase regional products and identify and locate the producers and companies that can be visited.
For each route, there is a map and a series of suggestions for visits and activities, such as taking part in the olive harvest, learning to make wine, discovering the growing cycle of rice, or even becoming a home producer of mushrooms. Using this information, tours can be worked out geographically, or in relation to visitors’ interests, the time available, the time of the year and the availability of the producers.
The guide is useful both for people visiting the region and for professionals who would like to enrich their programmes with the flavors of the land and with direct contact with producers.
