Everjets Airline - A new Fligtht connection to Madeira Island

The Madeira International Airport received on last November 14th an airplane from the Everjets company, which landed for the first time in the Madeira island, where it will be based in the near future.
The airline is operating with regular flights between Funchal, Lisbon and Porto, so beginning the airline’s commercial operation that in the last four years has been dedicated exclusively to executive aviation.  
This is a way to enhance the number of seats from the main national airports to Madeira archipelago. 

According to the introduced schedule, Everjets will connect Madeira and Lisbon 12 times a week, and Porto twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays.

To celebrate its inaugural flight, the baptism of the aircraft was performed already in Madeiras soil and passengers received souvenirs from the island delivered by the Airport’s Public Relations service hostesses.

Porto rated Europe’s top destination on the rise by TripAdvisor




TripAdvisor has just announced the Travellers’ Choice Awards for the Top Destinations on the Rise, revealing that the city of Porto heads the top 10 in Europe and is third globally. 
On the global list, 1st place goes to Tulum in Mexico and 2nd to Cartagena in Colombia, the birthplace of Gabriel Garcia Marquez. In Europe, Porto takes first place, standing out for a 48% increase in traffic related to the destination on the TripAdvisor site and a 39% rise in booking interest in October this year compared to the same month last year. The average price per night in the city through Tripadvisor is €52.79 and the best month to book, according to the site, is this month, when the average price per night is €43.24.
The low-cost accommodation preferred by Internet users planning to visit Porto is Moov Hotel Porto Centro. This statistic, according to the portal, relates to “highly recommended hotels with a minimum rating of four balls out of five on TripAdvisor” and the average price shown relates to the site’s data on bookings for the 1 December this year to 31 October next year. 
Funchal, in Madeira island, also appears in the top 10 of destinations on the rise in Europe, in 6th place, with an increase in traffic of 8% and a 21% higher booking interest than a year ago. Hotel Madeira is the best-rated low-cost accommodation. December is also the cheapest month to book, with an average price per night of €71.68, compared to an annual average of €94.11.

Madeira is Gold: Madeira Islands awarded “World´s Leading Island Destination” 2015 in the World Travel Awards


The World Travel Awards annual ceremony was held last December, 12th in El Jadida, Morocco, at the Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort, an event that aims to distinguish the excellence of the travel and tourism industry numerous sectors.

This prize of Madeira Islands was received by the Regional Secretary for Economy, Tourism and Culture Mr. Eduardo Jesus.

Madeira Islands was presented with the “World´sLeading Island Destination” award, in a remarkable and most memorable ceremony, after competing alongside other paradise tourist destinations such as Bali, Barbados, Crete, Cook Islands, Jamaica, Maldives, Mauritius, Saint Lucia, Sardinia, Seychelles, Sicily and Zanzibar.


‘It is an honour for Madeira Islands to accept this prize, this is a recognition of the excellent work of all professionals within this industry, who have effortlessly contributed for the continuous development of Madeira Islands as tourism destination of excellence. Our Archipelago´s main asset is its exuberant nature, and with this recognition, we are certain that, the effect of this award will be of great importance for Madeira Islands as a tourism destination,  contributing towards its continuous touristic growth.

Madeira Islands is a tourist destination with a long tradition in the tourism sector, famous not only for its natural beauty, but also for the quality standard of its services and for the art of well receiving its guests. With a percentage of about 1,140,250 guests in 2014, the archipelago of Madeira and also some of its hotel facilities have been renowned over the past few years with several awards.

These awards are motivating elements which contribute towards Madeira Islands increasing prestige and reputation.

Portugal won 4 World Travel Awards in the 2015 Grand Final Ceremony

In the 2015 World Travel Awards Grand Final hosted last December 12th, in the Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort, in El Jadida, Morocco, Portugal won 4 World Travel Awards.
